My journey into healthy building started over 15 years ago, when my aunt opened Green Depot, one of the first non-toxic building supply stores in the country. That early exposure opened my eyes to how deeply building materials affect health and air quality. Years later, a family member became seriously ill from toxic exposures in a poorly constructed apartment. That experience changed everything. I set out to build a non-toxic home for my own family—and dove headfirst into researching materials, systems, and healthier alternatives.
Even after we moved in, I realized that the deeper issues weren’t just about what you build with, but how you build it. I became increasingly focused on building science—how moisture moves, how walls dry, how HVAC systems should actually work. I took a job with a builder, read every book I could find, took shorter courses in key areas, and taught myself through both field experience and obsessive study. Most recently, I began my training to become a Certified Passive House Tradesperson, continuing to expand my ability to guide high-performance, low-tox homes from the inside out.
Today, through The Well Build™, I help homeowners and professionals make healthier, smarter decisions—whether they’re building new, renovating, or maintaining their home. My mission is simple: prevent building defects, avoid health risks, and create spaces that actually support well-being over time.
