About us
A healthier home comes down to how it's built.
We are a team of passionate building science experts whose mission is to improve the way we build homes.
Homeowners increasingly understand that their homes affect their health. They want better indoor air, cleaner water, healthier materials, moisture resilience, and lasting performance.
But building a healthier home requires hundreds of connected decisions. Information is fragmented, product claims are difficult to compare, and many project teams lack specialized expertise across every category.
Our top priority is preventing building defects — moisture traps, mold risks, off-gassing products, poor mechanicals, and EMF-heavy designs. We combine deep consulting expertise with the ability to bring in trusted specialists where needed.
The Well Build makes complex building decisions easier to understand and act on.
Our founder
It started with a family member who got sick.
My journey into healthy building started over 15 years ago, when my aunt opened Green Depot, one of the first non-toxic building supply stores in the country. That early exposure opened my eyes to how deeply building materials affect health and air quality.
Years later, a family member became seriously ill from toxic exposures in a poorly constructed apartment. That experience changed everything. I set out to build a non-toxic home for my own family — and dove headfirst into researching materials, systems, and healthier alternatives.
Even after we moved in, I realized the deeper issues weren't just about what you build with, but how you build it. I became increasingly focused on building science: how moisture moves, how walls dry, how HVAC systems should actually work. Most recently I became a Certified Passive House Tradesperson in both Building Enclosure and Services.
Today, through The Well Build, I help homeowners and professionals make healthier, smarter decisions — whether they're building new, renovating, or maintaining their home. My mission is simple: prevent building defects, avoid health risks, and create spaces that actually support well-being over time.
